Our client is a contract manufacturer for major consumer goods companies – because of their growth, we’re looking to add at least one R&D specialist, ideally with experience in cereals, bars, pastas who’ll provide technical sales AND R&D project support to internal groups(sales, marketing, quality, production) as well as external customers(Top 100 CPG companies, mid-size specialty food brands).
You’ll be a hands-on contributor responsible for formulation and technical support for extruded snack foods, meal bars, and other grain based products.
You’ll be expected to drive all R&D projects assigned forward to completion for internal as well as customer directed projects.
You’ll work with internal partners as well as contract manufacturers, sourcing partners, and co-packers.
You’ll play an active in conceptualizing new products for private label as well as external customers’ product portfolios.
You’ll be looked on a Subject Matter Expert in the areas of nutritional trends, raw material efficacy, sensory effects, palatability enhancements and keep yourself and the company at the forefront of industry trends.
Bachelor’s Degree minimum with a focus in Nutrition, Animal Science, Chemistry, Food Science; MS preferred
Product development experience with pasta, grains, cereals, cookie dough, snacks, animal feed, etc. highly desired.
3+ years in an R&D Associate, R&D Project Manager, Associate Food Scientist, R&D Project Manager, Formulation Chemist, Food Technologist, Product Development Scientist role with a CPG company(ex. nutritional supplements, health food, big box grocery, product and development firm, human / animal pharmaceutical, animal health, animal nutrition, healthy foods, pet food)
Knowledge and technical expertise of new product development trends in the nutritional supplement, health and wellness, whole foods industry
